you up-to-date on this project. About the Site:
Besides a history of the Professional Theatre and Educators’ Round-Table, the site
contains a Survey that takes approximately 5
minutes to complete.
Who should participate? – Everyone involved in technical theatre.
When will submissions to the survey be accepted? – Anytime.
Purpose of the Survey:
To facilitate future research, I am construct a large contact database. This web-site has
proven very effective in collecting information. The nature of the future research has not
been determined yet, but it might include an examination of:
- What are the characteristics of the current workforce?
- What will tomorrow’s technician need to know to be competent and benefit the
industry?
- How can production managers attract and keep the most talented young technicians if they
can work for commercial theatre and make more money?
There are as many questions as there are technical theatre students, educators and
professionals combined. Understanding that one answer will never satisfy everyone’s
needs does not mean that the discussion itself can not benefit many of us. Sometimes the
journey is more important than the destination.
